Peter Jackson is apperently not done with Tolkien's corpse!

He's making not one but two Hobbit movies. One of which is going to be based on the notes and vague hints at things that happened between the hobbit/fellowship in the books.

I don't really know how to feel about it, thoughts?

Dead-Alive is a great flick in that over the top Evil Dead 2 kind of way.


I think the other one is bad taste? I didn't much care for it.

This however has me nervous, he's already shown he doesn't have much respect for Tolkien's work (some of the things he says in the interviews and documentary stuff are down right insulting). Now that he's been really successful I fear he may just decide to scrap canon altogether in favor of his own vision.

Oh yeah, "Meet the Feebles". I happened to see that on Sundance Channel, during the time when the cable company made a mistake and sent Sundance to my apartment for free. I felt dirty enough to want a shower after that one... Shudder.

So yeah, these flicks are now being produced by PJ and directed by Guillermo Del Toro. My expectations are now raised a bit as I highly respect Del Toro's work. While they may not be the best Tolkien films at least they will most likely be very pretty.
