Inanna

Meaning: Sumerian goddess of fertility, who descended into the Underworld

Personality
Persephone's Avatar is very different from her reincarnation on Earth. Inanna has none of the naivete of her counterpart. She's a very straightforward, practical girl, concerned with getting things moving. She's very social, however, and enjoys company and meeting new people. Inanna is rather worldly, and tends to crack dirty jokes if the opportunity presents itself. Despite this, and her habit of going to a lot of parties, she's not all that, er, Experienced. Inanna hasn't really found a lot of guys who are worth her time.
Another major difference between Inanna and Filia is Inanna's approach to fighting. She's a good deal more effective than her counterpart at getting rid of threats- she'll give an opponent a chance at first, in case he's just making a mistake or realizes the wrongness of his actions. If he doesn't pass the initial test, Inanna feels the way to deal with such a threat is to destroy it. Inanna is very fond of animals, plants, and other living things, and sees life as an important gift. However, she feels that someone who doesn't respect this gift should have it taken away from them.
Other than those notable differences, Inanna is rather similar to Filia. She has the same amount of energy as her counterpart, and tends to be distractable (especially if she's had a bit of the drink). She's still a social butterfly, and wants everyone to get along.

Appearance
Inanna wears her vinelike tresses in a poofy bun at the back of her head, often with a crown of flowers. Her golden beige face commonly bears a quirky grin, accompanied by a sly glint from her gold eyes. Clothing her wiry frame are usually rather skimpy clothes- not only for their capacity to show off Inanna's minor assets, but also for the ease of movement they allow. These garments are usually in shades of green or yellow, although pink and other pastels tend to show up a lot as well.

History
Inanna hails from Olympia, where she was born to a priestess of Demeter and a gardener. Most of her early memories involve either toddling behind her father in the garden (which she enjoyed) or sitting in one of the bajillion ceremonies her mother headed (which bored her half to death). Because her mother was usually busy with this and that for the temple, Inanna's early life was spent in the garden with her father. It was there that she learned that some bugs, even if they were cute, and some flowers, even if they were pretty, were bad for the plants and had to be killed. She learned that some things that looked ugly were actually good. And she learned that it was fun to dig around in the dirt, especially when a little while later you were rewarded with yummy fruit.
From her mother she learned that religious ceremonies are the most boring thing in the world. To a child that enjoyed dancing, running, and making noise, enjoying the world around her, the solemn Olympian gatherings were total anathema. It was to her chagrin that Inanna found out she was an Avatar. She knew she'd have to go to the Academy, where there'd be lots of people worshipping her in the same sort of ceremonies they had here. A life of tedium seemed to be in store.
So Inanna arrived at Sparta with dread. This feeling lasted until she actually entered the school and found the raucous bustle created by dozens of children. Her heart sang- she was finally going into her element! Inanna took to the more exuberant social setting like a fish to water, making an unheard-of amount of friends within a few days. It didn't take long for even some upperclassmen to know the garrulous little Avatar by name.
Popular as she was with the students, Inanna was not as well-liked by the teachers. As a person, they didn't mind her so much- she was certainly very friendly and winsome. However, her enthusiasm was with the social sphere, not with her studies, and her grades suffered because of it. Only when she had friends to work with her did she get anything better than an average grade. Still, she's done well enough to make it through nearly every class so far (the exception being History, which she all but ignores).

NPCS
Khayin (Father)
A very simple horticulturist, interested mainly in keeping his gardens healthy and eating the food from it. He has a deep-seated hatred for aphids and potato bugs. Khayin has gone through life knowing exactly what it is he cares about- plants- and has a tendency to ignore anything that doesn't pertain to his interest. If someone expresses even a vague interest in his preferred field, he will lecture on and on until forcibly silenced.
Khayin's skin is leathery and dark from being outside in the elements. It sags a bit from his wiry frame. His hair is the same brown as his skin, with the occasional gold highlight to distinguish it, and his eyes are the same gold as his daughter's. A scraggly beard sprouts across his chin. Unless compelled by his wife to wear formal clothing, Khayin can be found in loose trousers and a baggy shirt, both of which were, at one point, white, but have now been turned into what looks like tie dye with mud. If he's outside, he wears a wide-brimmed hat to try and keep some of the sun off of him.

Peri (Mother)
Peri's an extremely serious woman. Mythos exists and thrives only by the power of the gods, she reasons, so it'd make sense for people to work hard at appeasing them. But nooooo, people muck it up with their self-centered parties and orgies. It's a good thing she's got her faithful core of followers- they're the only people keeping this planet running, no thanks to the revellers on those OTHER islands. You'd think that Peri would worry about her daughter out in the party world, but the woman has foolishly convinced herself that Inanna understands the Olympian way of life and would never be caught in one of the drunken revels. Peri has a habit of sticking to her beliefs and overlooking any inconvenient facts that happen to get in the way.
She's a stately woman, resembling nothing more than a marble statue, for the smoothness of skin, the pallor, and the complete lack of any expression. The only color on her is the mass of green hair bound tightly into a bun and the sheen of mossy eyes. Peri is almost as tall as most men, and carries her slightly muscular frame with a regal bearing befitting a priestess.
