Filia deVeris

Meaning: Daughter of Spring

Age: 15

Birth Date/Zodiac Sign: May 23/Gemini

Blood Type: B

Likes
Sports- or just being active in general; Filia enjoys any excuse to get rid of excess energy with other people.
Talking to people- incredibly curious about people, Filia loves learning what they do, what they like, and what she has in common with them.
Animals- especially baby ones. This extends to reptiles and insects. Filia will exclaim over pretty much anything living.
Flowers- she likes plants in general, but Filia really loves the sheer prettiness of flowers.

Dislikes
Winter- it's cold, most plants die, and a lot of animals go into hibernation. It's Filia's least favorite season.
Finishing Things- Filia's all about the journey, rather than the destination. When she gets really into something, she hates to see it end. This goes for pretty much everything, from homework (she has trouble writing conclusions to essays) to outings (she doesn't want to say goodbye to her friends and tends to be a bit clingy.)
Singleminded People- as someone who wants everyone to get along and be happy, Filia can't stand it when someone refuses to see things from another perspective and insists on demonizing someone else.

Hobbies
Gardening- Filia has plants of all sorts everywhere, from her window box to the potted plants in the house to her fruit, herb, and vegetable garden in the yard. She spends a lot of time caring for her plants, and loves to talk shop with other gardening enthusiasts.
Adopting Stray Animals- Most children grow out of the "It followed me home! Can I keep it?" habit. Filia never did. Her house is packed with random cats, dogs, and other creatures. There's a decent turnaround rate, thanks to her parents, who insist on her giving some of them away to the animal shelter or a new home every few weeks.

Appearance
Filia is petite and cute, with green hair that hangs in vine-like waves to her shoulder blades and big gold eyes that are nearly always sparkling with mirth. Her peachy skin has been darkened to a creamy beige from all her time outside. In distinct contrast with her childlike personality, Filia's body has developed more or less along the normal lines; her face may look a bit younger than fifteen, but her body doesn't. She's got an average figure, with some muscle definition from all her running around.
Draped over her small frame are loose, casual clothes-- shorts, t-shirts, et cetera, all in shades of yellow and green if she can help it. Filia doesn't like to wear anything black, since it washes her out. Often, she'll stick a flower in her hair or some part of her outfit. If she has to dress up, Filia will go with something pretty that still allows her to move around.

Personality
The first word to come to mind when describing Filia is "social." Filia sees her role in life as something like a camp counselor- she's there to make sure everyone gets along and has a good time. Because of this, she tends to be a bit overwhelming to people she's just met. Filia pounces on anyone new to her with millions of questions about them, their friends and family, and their life and hobbies, all in an effort to find ways to get along with them and make them happy. She's ingratiating- not in a weaselly way, but in the way a child tries to make her parents happy.
Very little bothers Filia quite as much as dissent and argument. If a fight breaks out among her friends, her first instinct is to run away, curl up in the fetal position with her hands over her ears and her eyes squinched shut, and try to pretend it isn't happening. After the actual fighting, if people haven't made up, she tries to act as a go-between and negotiator. Yes, Filia is incredibly naive, believing that anyone can get along if they just sit down together and have some tea and cookies. Because of this, she won't ever, under any circumstances, intentionally hurt someone. This pacifism, coupled with her optimistic view of others, is almost certain to lead to lots of debate with her fellow senshi.
Another word that comes up regarding Filia is "active." It's rare to find her sitting still- "Filia-- SIT DOWN!" has become almost a rallying cry among her teachers at school, in response to her habit of getting out of her seat to make a point, or, in the worse cases, to wander over to the window or inspect something on another desk. Needless to say, this gets her into a lot of trouble. There is a good side to her energy levels, however. In anything she does, Filia puts in 110% of herself. She's enthusiastic about everything, although she has an unfortunate habit of hopping from project to project, never completing them. Filia loves the birth of new ideas, but rarely sees them all the way through. If she's especially fond of a project, she can unconsciously sabotage it to keep it going longer.
After a bit of time around Filia, a third defining word often comes up: "innocent." All but the most blatant references to the more carnal aspects of human relationships go flying over her head; innuendo is lost on Filia. If she does manage to catch a sexual reference or a dirty joke, her immediate response is to shout, "EEEEEWWWWW!" Yes, puberty hasn't successfully claimed her yet. Despite this, she does have an interest in boys, in the "going to the movies" or "going to Homecoming" way. For the most part, guys to her are just a slightly stranger form of girl.
Filia's greatest fear is dead things. She's capable of taking care of animals that have been wounded in various sickening ways without flinching, but take her to a zombie movie and she'll spend most of the time squeaking and hiding her face in her hands. When her pets die, if she can't get someone else to bury them for her Filia will put on gloves, mittens, and wrap the corpse in an old shirt before venturing to touch it. Were she to confront a dead body without her protective armor, Filia would most likely go into shuddering convulsions.
